You should see markings on one side or the other on the driver boards.
These should be oriented so the 1A 1B 2A 2B are closest to the stepper connector on the right side of the board.
All the drive current adjustment pots have been in the direction of the power supply input on the PICA board.
However depending on the driver board maker A4988 can have that pot in other positions. Your pin out markings are your best guide.
The jumper switches underneath will determine your microsteps and you should refer to the DRV8825 data sheet to determine what your settings are.
Currently IIRC all stepper drivers are set to 1/16th
