I would like to share a simple enclosure I’ve put together using very basic IKEA parts.
It’s inspired by what I’ve found over Reprap forum and other web searches.
What you’ll need:
STUVA Frame - http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30128177/
SINDVIK Glass door - http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90291858/
BESTA Soft closing hinges - http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80261258/
(p.s. I bought mine from the “.ca” website, you can probably find this anywhere you can find an IKEA)
Here’s the result
I didn’t use the spring door mechanism as I found the soft closing hinges to be really nice by themselves.
The frame is a bit “bendy”, but support the door “just enough”. A piece of mdf or wood could be used in the back instead of the cardboard insert to make it more sturdy.
As you can see, the spool holder doesn’t fit this enclosure, but there’s is plenty of room on the left (or right). I plan to design a side spool holder or use the Taz 3 (or 4 or 5) STL. Right now I’ve used a spare piece of extrusion and shoved it under the printer .
Next step is to add some led strips. And wire them in parallel to my power supply.
Furthermore, this is a Wilson TS model, it may be a bit smaller than the Wilson 2, but if you check IKEA website, you should have a good idea of the dimension you can fit in the enclosure.
