So I've been getting these really weird problems with the Arduino lately and I'm not sure if any of them are related. I haven't had my printer that long, less than 6 months so I'm posting this because in my opinion its really weird.
First, The LCD itself flashes in and out of displaying the correct information, displaying nothing, or displaying only part of everything (i.e. it has some sections displaying nothing). I don't think the screen itself is failing due to the fact that this is completely random. Secondly, the screen tends to work better when I plug the Arduino into my laptop. However this is not a solution as the screen will go blank after a while after being plugged into my laptop.
Secondly, the I get a mintemp error unless the arduino itself isn't plugged into my laptop. It will display 0C for both thermistors unless I keep the arduino plugged into my USB. This is definitely not a wiring issue as its for both thermistors and they revert to reading the correct temp.
Everything else seems to work fine. Both these things happened fairly recently, with the screen issue starting roughly a week ago and the mintemp error starting today. From another post, it seems that the mintemp error can happen when there is too much current draw on one of the stepper drivers (i.e its failing). But none of my stepper drivers seem to be overheating. Plus I haven't had the printer all that long.
I'm thinking that I just need to get a new Arduino, but if there's some issue that is causing my arduino to fail, I don't necessarily want to replace the arduino in another few months.
What do you guys think is failing? Are these two things related?
